88 Shades of Rock evolves the concept of La Vie… en Rock! into a broader live experience, where the history of rock meets contemporary music.
The journey moves from the late 1950s to the mid-1990s, reinterpreting the sound and energy of rock entirely through the piano. Along the way, contemporary hit songs enter the performance with the support of DJ Palla, creating a bridge between rock history and the music of today.
The show also includes arrangements of Davide Locatelli’s own music developed in collaboration with Prof. Simone Fermani, his Composition teacher at the Milan Conservatory.
Short introductions curated by radio journalist and artistic director Gregorio Fortunato guide the audience through each song, adding historical context, stories and curiosities before the first notes are played.
The energy of rock is rebuilt through the expressive power of the piano.
